The "1%" ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile application (The "1%"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you use our App. This includes:
2.1 Personal Information
Personal data is stored on your device and, if an account is created, also on Google Firebase.
You may choose to share portions of this data with selected friends within the App.
2.2 Health Data
We collect and process health-related data, including heart rate, sleep data, and workout data, via Apple HealthKit.
This data remains on the device unless explicitly shared by the user.
2.3 Nutrition Data
Our nutrition database is built using SQLite, integrating OpenFoodFacts data dumps and other food data sources.
Currently, we do not use the OpenFoodFacts API but may do so in future updates.
2.4 User-Generated Content
Users can enter personal data in various sections of the App, including but not limited to journal entries, goals, habits, nutrition tracking, workout logs, bodyweight, BMI, and anthropometric tracking.
Users may selectively share specific portions of this data with friends, which will then be stored on Google Firebase.
2.5 Notifications
Notifications are entirely optional, and users can manage their preferences for which sections trigger notifications.
We do not collect any data from notifications.
2.6 Analytics & Tracking
We do not run background analytics beyond the standard analytics provided by Apple (iOS) and Google (Android).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
To personalize user experiences, such as generating customized workout routines based on HealthKit data.
To create predictions based on user-entered bodyweight data.
To enable communication and personalized coaching for users who purchase coaching plans.
To allow users to share specific data with selected friends.
To improve the App through optional user feedback forms.
To ensure proper functionality of notifications, though no data is collected from them.
4. Data Storage and Security
Most user data is stored locally on the device via Core Data and UserDefaults.
When an account is created, data is stored on Google Firebase.
Data shared with friends is also stored on Firebase and updates every 24 hours.
Deleted data is removed within 24 hours of the deletion request.
Account deletions result in all associated Firebase data being erased within 24 hours.
We use Apple's encryption standards and Google Firebase authentication for data security.
5. Third-Party Services
Our App integrates with third-party services, including:
HealthKit (for health data collection)
Apple’s App Store analytics (for standard performance tracking)
OpenFoodFacts (via data dumps; potential API use in the future)
Mapbox API (for location-based features)

6. User Rights and Data Management
